Colour is in the air

If you stop and look, even a food garden is full of colour (besides green that is).  One of my favourite edible flowers is borage.  We plant it for a number of reasons - bee attractor, companion plant to strawberries and ridiculously beautiful flowers.

We've been told that pomegranates don't always fruit in our neck of the woods, but I thought I'd put one in the food forest and see.  The flowers have formed, and since taking this pic about 12 days ago, the fruit has begun to set.  So let's hope....
And this little splash of colour is a mystery to me, so if anyone knows what it is, please let me know.  It just popped up near the pomegranate and has the most amazing berries (to look at - I'm assuming they might be poisonous).
And this is in my little tropical forest, but its so colourful that I thought it belongs here.

  2. We have a little pomegranite that is is about 10 cm tall because the rabbits keep eating it. Hopefully we will get some growth this summer now the fences are up.

  3. That borage photo is beautiful! I love the flowers in cold summer drinks and the leaves chopped finely in potato salad. Yum!
