In veggie patch No.2, we had grown some buckwheat and Japanese millet to condition and mulch the soil. It grew incredibly quickly, and before we knew it, it was time to 'chop and drop'. Here is a pick of what it looked like once we did.
The sunflowers are also doing well. Its fun to watch them track the sun over the course of the day, turning their big yellow faces from the right to the left.
And here is the Japanese millet just before it was chopped as mulch for the corn.
We are growing it in the 3rd patch as well where it will make great mulch for the rock melons as they spread out.
