I know, I know, its been a while

Its been a very busy first quarter now that I'm back at work.  Having said that, there is still some movement on the property.  Big things are afoot.

We've finally finished the fencing and have not one but two paddocks ready for some new additions.  The paddock in the pictures captures about and acre and a half to the side of and above the house, with a small holding pen next to the gate so we can handle the livestock when its time for worming etc.  The second relief paddock is just under an acre towards the road.  Pictures of that one to follow.  So watch this space as next weekend is the big day to bring on some new members of the farming family.  We'll see what the dogs think of that.  Those poor little cocker spaniels were just suburban puppies before we brought them to all the sights and sounds of a farm.  They can now sit next to the fence as the chooks are feeding without storming them but we'll see how they cope with some larger inhabitants.

In other news, the garlic and the peas are in and starting to look good

I've planted too much garlic in the last two years so am pulling back a little this year (I don't mean to sound like a show off to those who struggle with garlic, it just seems to grow so easily here).

And the lavender is out and awash with bees, whilst my little banana and arrowroot semi-circle has been loving the rain.

    1. Hi Dani - no need and we wouldn't want the livestock to get injured. It is dog proof fencing as there are occassionally some wild dogs in the area but that and strong poles are all that we needed according to fencing experts
